So so Sao Tome v1

Welcome to my very first travel post! My cousin and I went on a whirlwind trip to the island nation of Sao tome e Principe in May 2018 and after much back and forth...the fruits of our labour are below. Enjoy!

Dates: 12th-17th May, 2018

Pre-Travel Prep
I spent about 2 months actually planning the trip, stalking the country as a whole and waiting for emails.  One email bounced back, one agency didn't do tours, the other replied a month later and we ended up going with Navetur who were the first to respond. After 40 odd emails, we finally had a plan in place and were ready to set off. I avoided checking the weather forecast since it wasn't going to influence our decision to go...but did at the last moment and yes...it was due to rain all week :/

So so São Tomé v2

20 odd years after discovering a pair of islands in the middle of the Atlantic that ensured I would always win Geography trivia competitions, I finally had the opportunity to visit São Tomé and Príncipe in May 2018. After many facebook posts and messages, Trip Advisor look ups and random google searches and spreadsheets, my cousin and I set off of our adventure

Not fast, just furious

Ok, so i'm jumping  on this late...but what can i say..i don't exactly have a lot of time on my hands.

I heard about the movie through Don Omar's song off the Original Motion Picture Soundtrack, cos his video features snippets of the movie and it was set in Brasil, yada yada, as you can imagine i got excited.  Fast foward to December 2011, when i do finally find the time to watch a DVDrip of it, and i can barely believe my eyes after the 1st 5 minutes.

Little Havana Ghana

It seems having a Cuban themed eatery is a hallmark of any cosmopolitan city and Accra has been somewhat of a slow adopter. When it comes to culinary variety (or the lack thereof) perhaps it's the similarity of Caribbean/south american fare that makes it non-exotic or Ghanaians's less than adventurous palates in general, perhaps it's our penchant for spicy food and carbohydrate laden meals etc, but all this seems to be changing, possibly as a result of a significantly expanded expat/repat community or perhaps just plain old globalisation.

One good thing about the D in Osu is how early they open. You would be hard pressed to find a breakfast joint on a Sunday morning, and soon you'll stop looking and just head over to DF.

In summary, there are more people of colour in Peaky Blinders than GOT.
